Junior Olympics Debut for FVWP

A hard fought battle Valley falls short in the final & WINS the Silver Medal! Way to go Girls! #GoValleyGo #2016JOs

After a summer of swimming, training and a little suntanning, the largest contingent of FVWP players to date have made a mark of their own in the USA water polo world. The USA Water Polo Junior Olympic Championships is the largest age group water polo tournament in the United States. Athletes and teams come from across the country to compete on the national stage. The Junior Olympics Tournament consists of two divisions, the Championship Division and the Classic Division. Teams compete over a 4-day period within their respective age category.

A big congrats to the 16U girls team who for the very first time competed in the US water polo event coming out with an impressive silver medal in the Classic Division of the tournament. Gabby Mantyka, Holly Fedyck, Deena Charles, Kayla Preocanin, Emily Bird, Ava Morrant, Katarina Preocanin, Kinga Wisniewska and Brynn Jonastchick with Coach Justin played to win every game but their very last against a very tough Huntington Beach Team. This marks the first loss for this team in just over two years.

Other FVWP female players we are proud of competing with US teams over the weekend include:

- Devyani McLaren playing for SET Pink in the 18U Classic Division, also pulling in a silver medal! Congrats Devyani and her team!

The 16U boys team, also competing in the Championship Division, supplementing their full team with Garrett Davis, Riley Bennett, and Cam Davies. Their team finished in 36th position overall.
