FVWP – Summer Maintenance 2019
The 2019 program will feature a blend of skill building sessions, skill reinforcement practice
sessions and weekend scrimmages in the park.
FVWP Head Coach Michel Roy will be on deck for all practices and scrimmages throughout the
month of June before he heads off in July as a coach for the Water Polo Canada National Team
Program.
For the month of July, we are thrilled to announce our guest coach, Mark Block, who will host
weekly skills sessions on Monday evenings. Mark, one of Coach Roy’s former athletes, is a
former Canadian National Team Captain and the principal of 604 Water Polo – a local private
Water Polo academy.
Our fantastic coaching team also includes Georgiy Belyaev (2019 Western NCL 14U Boys Most
Valuable Coach) and Marie Anderson (2018 Western NCL 14U Girls most Valuable Coach), who
will each be on deck to support the development of our athletes and help prepare them for an
even stronger 2019/2020 season!
Rounding out the Coaching Team is FVWP Alumni, Sam Remfry. Sam comes back to Valley this
summer to help coach our Summer Try It! And BCSSA Support programs and will be on deck to
assistant coach at all Summer Scrimmages in the Park.

Scrimmages in the Park
Throughout the summer program, FVWP will participate in scrimmages in Central Park in
Burnaby facing teams from Pacific Storm Water Polo, the WestCoast Warriors, Northwest
Water Polo and visiting players from Australia.
